WHO WE ARE

"... from time immemorial, we believe as Aboriginal people, Australia has been here from the first sunrise, our people have been here along with the continent, with the first sunrise. We know our land was given to us by Baiami, we have a sacred duty to protect that land, we have a sacred duty to protect all the animals that we have an affiliation with through our totem system ..."

Core Artistry is an outlet for Indigenous art and music, showcasing traditional and contemporary styles and types of painting, carving and story telling and song using many different media.

Blending heritage and modern media we encourage indigenous youth and elders to work together in a positive environment to improve skills and relationships, obtain qualification while understanding their heritage and purpose.

While the majority of music and art dealers and resellers have acceptable professional standards and operate in good faith when dealing with Indigenous artists,  misconduct persists in some areas.

We operate within strict guidelines of Indigenous arts commercial sector, in an industry where there continues to be significant unethical and unfair treatment and exploitation of Indigenous artists by some dealers in the Industry.

Our commitment is to provide individuals across the Indigenous arts in our communities to build strong, ethical Indigenous arts and provide a commercial outlet without exploitation of artists that negatively affect their families and communities.
"Have you forgotten us?
We have not done any wrong.
There is nothing growing here,
it is all dust.
Everything is drying out;
when are you going to send rain?
Have you forgotten us?
If someone has done wrong to you,
it is not us."
JIMMY BARKER, Australian Aboriginal, Muruwari Rain Song
